PCS ARMs Section

Are you about to leave work or retire?  Are you a member of PCS?  Do you want to stay in touch with what is happening both at work and out of it?  Become a member of the ARMs section of PCS.
ARMs is the Associate and Retired Members section of PCS.  It operates in a similar way to your local branch, but encompasses ex employees of all Departments of the Civil Service.  ARMs campaigns on behalf of all ex Civil Service PCS members on a wide range of issues.  Some current issues at the forefront are:

  •         NHS cuts
  •         Guidance on home care services, when someone needs care and
             support in the home
  •         Tax help for older people from volunteers who are ex HMRC staff

These are by no means the only issues.  ARMs works alongside the TUC, National Pensioners Convention, Civil Service Pensioner’s Alliance and other organisations, and even local branches, to try to get the best deals for you in your new situation and also for your families, including Public Services, Education, job availability for younger members of the family.  If you aren’t a member, then you don’t have a voice, so please consider transferring you PCS membership if you are leaving the Civil Service.

There is a local committee which runs ARMs in your area to which you can feed your concerns and, should you wish, you can become an active member of that
committee. Even better – subs are:

only £2.09 per calendar month!

Like all sections of the union, ARMs relies on strength in numbers and the more members there are, the more successful campaigning work it can do.  ARMs isn’t about ageing fuddy duddies, it is about you!  Take a few moments to look at the ARMs web pages via this link;
