                  Public  Meeting 
              In support of Public Services
Run by PCS and supported by The Sheffield Trades Council

Date:        Monday 30th April 2012
Time:       From 7pm – 9pm
Venue:     Main Meeting Room, Quaker Meeting House,
        10 St James Street, Sheffield S1 2EW

                 So far the panel includes:
 
Julie Dore Council Leader of Labour Party (or put forward a candidate)
Shaffaq Mohammed Leader of Lib Dems (himself or another candidate)

Sheffield Conservatives TBC

Rob Murphy Green Party

Maxine Bowler TUSC

subject to change over the next two weeks


Political Parties standing in the local elections in Sheffield (with the exception of those that promote racism and intolerance) will be invited to send a representative to sit on the panel at this meeting. 

Questions discussed at the meeting will cover topical issues of national and local importance such as tackling the budget deficit, cuts to public services, regional pay, workfare councils and local council issues as decided by the attendees.

Questions relation to the PCS’ ‘Make Your Vote Count’ campaign aims of promoting an alternative to cuts to public services will feature prominently.

We would like to encourage all union members to support and attend this meeting. If you would like to submit a question to be asked at the meeting, please send it to lindac@pcs.org.uk.

We will also be publicising the event via the local media.

Members of the public will be welcome to attend.

The meeting will be chaired by Sheila Banks, PCS Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Committee Chair.
