Tabloids and Hate Campaigns

Once again we see the tragic death of 6 children being exploited by right wing interest groups to attack the welfare state.  Let’s be very clear about this Mick Philpott was a vile individual who cared little or nothing for his children but to blame the welfare state is rather like blaming the NHS on Harold Shipman.

This attempt by the Daily Mail and other tabloids that support the destruction of the welfare state is pure opportunism to exploit this tragedy for their own means.  Instead of putting the case that this man is responsible for his crime not every other person who claims benefit which includes working family’s pensioners part time workers ect.

The irony of course as they pull the welfare State apart, children in poor circumstances will be the ones to suffer most from these vile hate campaigns conducted by the rich and powerful.

We did not see for example the serial murderer Fred West as an example of home ownership leading to murder or, The Yorkshire ripper self-employed status the cause of his vile crimes.  Hate campaigns run by the tabloids like this is nothing new in fact during the 1930,s the Daily Mail were big supporters of Hitler’s Germany until the outbreak of war and a gagging order.  

They take the attitude based on lie and miss-information that everyone on benefits is on the fiddle the reality is very different.  In fact Benefit fraud is actually tiny in comparison to the paranoia spread by the press for example only 0.9% of claims are fraudulent but a quarter of press coverage is all about benefit fraud.  And we all know about the real Fraud where tax is concerned and oddly in many cases by the same people who attack the welfare state.

It’s now well know that hate campaign’s conducted by the press and often supported by all main political parties have resulted in hate crimes soaring against the sick and disabled and in some areas made racism respectable.

 

People need to see the end game here this is state sponsored bullying of the ones at the bottom supported by all three main political parties and the press calling the tune. Ask yourself did you vote for the Sun or Daily Mail?  They don’t care about your kids or in fact anyone’s kids just their self-interest and greed at your expense now we see of course a move to freeze the minimum wage time to be shut of the lot of them.

The real issue is here if we let them get away with what they are doing none of our kids will have any decent future and that’s something most parents should and will fight for.
