ORGANISERS say this year’s Sheffield Pride will be the biggest and best ever.
The city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community will gather in Endcliffe Park to celebrate Sheffield Pride.
And before the main event there’s a mini Pride to enjoy.
Sheffield Pride is organising its third Mini Pride event from 11am until 7pm on Saturday, March 31, at the top of Fargate, including music by DJ Sam Cock.
Organisers say there will be a crepe station and a Pimms bar.
Sheffield Pride’s main event takes place between noon and 7pm on Saturday, June 2.
A spokesman said: “Sheffield Pride is an annual event created to celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community within Sheffield and throughout the world as a whole.
“The event is organised by a committee of elected volunteers who work throughout the year to create an event which represents and reflects the LGBT people who live in Sheffield.
“From its humble beginnings as South Yorkshire Pride in 2008, the event is developing into something new and innovative.
“Sheffield Pride 2012 is set to be the biggest Pride event ever to be held in Sheffield.
“We hope it will continue to grow in many ways over the years to come. With the support of local businesses and organisations we will create an event to remember in 2012.
“The Sheffield Pride Committee is dedicated to providing a free and inclusive event every year.”
